Taking care of a fine timepiece is important, which is why our Timepiece Care Plans are specifically designed to complement your manufacturer’s warranty. To protect your investment, all components of the Wallace Bishop Timepiece Care Plans are carried out by our team of precision master watchmakers in our purpose-built in house service centre, or by our trained team of service managers in-store.
We offer two types of 5-year Timepiece Care Plans, depending on your investment and if you would like to increase the cover provided our Essentials Plan and Premium Plan.
The plan covers the following services at no charge*:
(1) Wallace Bishop PTY LTD ACN:009 665 212 contracts with you to provide the service offered under the Terms and Conditions; (2) In purchasing one of our 5-Year Timepiece Care Plans (either Essentials or Premium), you acknowledge that you agree with the Terms and Conditions and that you have had the opportunity to read the contents of that section; (3) Provided no service has been conducted, this Agreement may be cancelled within 7 days of purchase; (4) All requests for service under the Timepiece Care Plans must be lodged with a Wallace Bishop store. Postal lodgement may be made to: PO Box 2500 Fortitude Valley Business Centre QLD 4006. The Wallace Bishop Timepiece Care Plan brochure and purchase receipt must be provided on each occasion together with the timepiece to be serviced; (5) Our liability under the Timepiece Care Plan is limited to the extent that the total cost in parts plus labour expenses to maintain the timepiece is not greater than 75% of its original purchase price; (6) Our timepieces come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonable loss or damage. You are entitled to have the timepiece repaired if the timepiece fails to be of acceptable quality.
INSTRUCTIONS You must keep this Timepiece Care Plan document and the original purchase receipt for the timepiece; they are integral parts of the Timepiece Care Plan, and you are required to produce them to an authorised Wallace Bishop sales associate to obtain service under the Timepiece Care Plan.
TO OBTAIN SERVICE To obtain service under your Timepiece Care Plan, produce the covered timepiece along with the Timepiece Care Plan document and original purchase receipt to a Wallace Bishop store. Unauthorised modifications and repairs are not covered under this Timepiece Care Plan.
WHAT IS COVERED The following services are covered upon purchase of your Timepiece Care Plan: (1) Free battery replacement and re-grease of the Back Gasket and Crown Gasket within the life of the Timepiece Care Plan; (2) Unlimited adjustments to the size of the timepiece bracelet, within technical design limitations, within the life of the Timepiece Care Plan. This does not include the supply of additional links; (3) Annual external clean and inspection of the timepiece; bracelet is removed and cleaned in an ultrasonic, all pins and lugs are inspected for wear. Casing is also cleaned and inspected for damage; (4) Replacement of any damaged springs lugs noted during inspection and re-tensioning or replacement of any split pins if required. Loose screws in the timepiece bracelet may also be tightened to ensure their security; (5) Mechanical timepieces will be regulated, if timing fails to meet the manufacturers standards, within the life of the Timepiece Care Plan. This does not constitute a Complete Service to your timepiece; (6) If you have selected the Essentials 5-Year Timepiece Care Plan, you will receive a discount of 15% on your first Complete Service. Most manufacturers recommend servicing your timepiece every three to five years to ensure the longevity of your timepiece; (7) Customers who have purchased the Premium 5-Year Timepiece Care Plan will be entitled to receive one Complete Service to their timepiece at no charge; (8) Services for timepieces of Japanese manufacture will be performed in house by our trained team of Service Managers with the exception of services noted in (5) & (6) which will be carried out at Wallace Bishop’s in house repair division (9) Services for timepieces of Swiss manufacture will also be conducted at Wallace Bishop’s in house repair division at 55 Doggett Street, Newstead QLD 4006 by qualified watchmakers with the exception of services noted in (2), (3) & (4) which will be completed in-store by our trained team of Service Managers; (10) A loan timepiece may be available while the Timepiece Care Plan services are carried out. The loan timepiece may not be of the same quality as the watch to be repaired.
EXCLUSIONS Exclusions include: (1) While timepieces are within the Manufacturer’s Warranty Period, Wallace Bishop reserves the right to send the timepiece to the manufacturer or their registered service agent for repair; (2) Where the original Timepiece Care Plan documentation cannot be produced at the time of service, the claim cannot proceed; (3) Damage caused by an accident, misuse of the timepiece, immersion beyond specifications, using pusher while immersed or abnormal wear and tear of the timepiece are not covered by the Timepiece Care Plan; (4) Modifications, alterations or repairs conducted by a party other than Wallace Bishop, may void the Timepiece Care Plan; (5) Damage resulting from the loss, theft, malicious damage, vandalism, collision, fire, flood, acts of God, war, civil unrest, are not covered under the Timepiece Care Plan; (6) The loss of use of the timepiece whilst it is being serviced is not covered under the Timepiece Care Plan; (7) The Timepiece Care Plan is not transferable through sale, other than to whom it is gifted at time of its original purchase. (8) The Timepiece plan is not transferrable between items purchased.
TERMS OF COVERAGE The term and coverage of either the Essentials or Premium Timepiece Care Plan begins on the date of purchase and continues for five years.
